Omar Andrés Camacho Morales has more than 10 years of experience in the field of engineering, experience in university teaching, public management and government. He was part of the programmatic team of the Historical Pact that drafted the Energy Transition proposal. He was a member of the joint team on energy issues after the election of the current President of the Republic, Gustavo Petro. He was appointed by the president as Minister of Mines and Energy, a position he has led since August 4, 2023.
He is an electrical engineer and graduate in Physics from the Francisco José de Caldas District University, Master in Energy Administration and its Renewable Sources from the Monterrey Technological Institute, and PhD candidate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (FJC District University).
